The countdown till the first official Joomla! event in Greece has started.

In the weekend of 28 & 29 May 2011, JoomlaDay Greece 2011 will host Joomla! gurus from Europe, the US and of course Greece, who will talk about the past, the present and the bright future of Joomla!, as well as demonstrate all the cutting edge solutions that make Joomla! the most popular content management platform worldwide.

Joomla! is known to power around 3% of the world's websites. However in Greece, Joomla! is powering an estimated 16% (!) of all Greek websites, making it the most successful publishing platform in the country and establishing little Greece as one of the top countries worldwide with such a high usage of Joomla!. And let's not forget that some of the most popular extensions within the Joomla! have deep roots in Greece: Akeeba Backup, K2, Community Builder. Extensions which have been downloaded millions of times in total and translated into dozens of languages worldwide.
